Basic Toxin & Filler Training

Medskills has trained more than 6 000 Doctors over the past years.

This is our foundation course to train doctors and dentists in the basics of facial aesthetics.

 

Our course distinguishes itself by being practical and hands-on. It aims to position toxin and filler work in the bigger medical aesthetic picture. Together with our therapies for skin enhancement training course, it forms the foundation of every doctor’s transition into this exciting new discipline.

 

This course is the launching pad for many practicitioners to start their journey in this quickly advancing field. Dr Chris Giezing is the training director of Medskills and widely recognised aesthetic and anti-ageing practitioner with many years of experience.

 

Dentists: Although many dentists are currently practicing full-face aesthetics and have been doing so for many years, the HPCSA still considers the Scope of Practice for Dentists as limited to the peri-oral area.

Each Doctor injects his/her own patient/s under guidance of an trainer (one-on-one) with rest of the group observing and taking part in patient evaluations and discussions.

COURSE CONTENT

Detailed information on:

  • Training Areas:
    • Toxin Training areas: Glabellar lines, Crow’s Feet, Forehead lines & Masseter muscle.
    • Fillers Training areas: Cheek Volumisation (Mid-Face), Lower Face & Lips.
  • All models for injection purposes are first evaluated by trainers in conjunction with new injectors. This allows trainees the opportunity to evaluate a significant amount of patients.
  • The training involves: the goal of aesthetic medicine, anatomy, relevant pharmacology, aspects of beauty, injection techniques, hands-on practical training, what is toxin & filler, contra-indication and risks and complications.

  • Hands-on: practical session for each doctor
