Dr Catherine Davies, known widely as Dr Cathy, is a Johannesburg-based medical doctor, internationally published author and PRF educator, with almost three decades of experience across aesthetic, regenerative and longevity medicine.
Dr Cathy has built her career where clinical medicine, regenerative science and education meet. She qualified in medicine at the University of the Witwatersrand in 1998 and completed an MBA at Henley Business School in 2007. She recently finished a Master’s in Longevity Science through the Geneva College of Longevity Science, which places her at the forefront of preventive and regenerative medicine.
She is the founder and director of ZD Hair Clinic in Johannesburg, a specialist practice in longevity, hair restoration, aesthetic and regenerative medicine. In 25 years of hands-on clinical work she has become a recognised expert in FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) hair transplant surgery and a pioneer of regenerative protocols, especially Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF) therapies.
Dr Cathy has trained doctors on three continents. Since 2017 she has been a lecturer and course supervisor for PRF Edu in the United States, teaching regularly in Florida and California. She is also a faculty lecturer for the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine and for AIMe Medical Group South Africa.
Delegates in her courses learn from someone who uses these techniques in her own practice every day, has helped shape the science behind them and has years of experience teaching other doctors.

Dr Cathy believes media can drive social change. She produces and presents Outpatients, a docuseries about her life and medical practice that is now in its third season and broadcast worldwide. She has also made cameo appearances in Pirates (History Channel), Moonchild (MTV) and Stories Untold (SABC2).
